Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes including dosa, idli, vada, sambar, chutneys, porotta, meals, and regional specialties.
- Maintain food taste, quality, and presentation according to restaurant standards.
- Ensure proper hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety practices in the kitchen.
- Monitor inventory, manage ingredients, and coordinate with the purchasing team for stock refills.
- Maintain consistency in recipes and portion sizes during peak hours.
- Coordinate with kitchen helpers and other staff for smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Assist in menu planning and introduce additional South Indian menu items when required.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 1–8 years of experience as a South Indian Cook.
- Strong knowledge of traditional South Indian cuisine, spices, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to handle bulk cooking and high customer volume.
- Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Prior experience in hotel, restaurant, or catering industry preferred.
- Ability to maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
